Heo Ga-yoon Opens Up About Loss and New Life in Bali on “You Quiz on the Block”
Former 4Minute member Heo Ga-yoon, 36, is sharing her story of rebuilding her life after tragedy on the tvN variety show “You Quiz on the Block.” The episode, originally slated for earlier broadcast but delayed, will air tonight at 8:45 PM.
Ga-yoon, who previously served as the main vocalist for the popular girl group 4Minute, has been living in Bali for the past three years. During the show, she will discuss her decision to move there, a choice deeply connected to the sudden loss of her older brother at the age of 33.
She recounts a heartbreaking experience, explaining that her brother collapsed and was found to have a heart condition. He passed away just three days before a scheduled operation, shortly after gaining his independence. Ga-yoon shared her emotional reaction to discovering all of his new belongings, still in their packaging, questioning if she had somehow foreseen the tragedy.
The program will also explore how this significant loss shifted her perspective on life. Ga-yoon will also reveal details about her experiences with school bullying, which she endured from a young age while pursuing her dream of becoming a singer, beginning her trainee period at just 14 years old.
She will also candidly discuss the challenges she faced transitioning to an acting career after 4Minute disbanded, including a seven-year struggle with binge eating and obsessive behaviors.
